Berkeley Point Hires Two to HUD, Affordable Teams

BETHESDA, Md. — Berkeley Point Capital, a Bethesda-based lender, has added Peggy Lawrence and Will Andersen to its team.

Peggy Lawrence will be chief underwriter of FHA in the firm’s headquarters. She has 24 years of commercial multifamily underwriting experience, including management of more than $1 billion in loan applications.

Lawrence was previously the deputy chief underwriter of FHA at Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital, where she underwrote and closed approximately $700 million in loans.

Will Andersen was also hired as director of production in Berkeley Point’s New York office. Ansersen’s focus will be on expanding the company’s affordable housing team, working on Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA programs.

Previously, Andersen was director of production and credit strategies at Hunt Mortgage Group, where he served as the product specialist for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s commercial real estate lending products.
