by Jeff Shaw

PARKVILLE, Md. — Birchwood Healthcare Properties has selected Charter Senior Living to take over management duties at Quail Run Assisted Living in the Baltimore suburb of Parkville.

The community will be renamed The Cottages of Perry Hall – A Charter Senior Living Community. The management acquisition grows the Charter portfolio to 13 senior living communities across eight states.

The Cottages of Perry Hall is an assisted living and memory care community with a total of 64 units. Built in 2002, the property is split into four cottages, each with 16 units. One cottage is dedicated to memory care residents.

Birchwood acquired the property from an out-of-state operator for $6 million. Dan Baker and Jim Kornick of Avison Young arranged the sale.

Charter Senior Living plans to invest more than $1 million in a phased renovation of the community.
