Five Star Senior Living Promotes Katie Potter to President, CEO as Bruce Mackey Retires

NEWTON, Mass. — Five Star Senior Living Inc. (NASDAQ: FVE) has promoted Katie Potter to the positions of president and CEO. She replaces Bruce Mackey, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Potter has been with Five Star since 2012 and currently serves as executive vice president and general counsel. Prior to joining Five Star, she practiced law at Sullivan & Worcester LLP and Burns & Levinson LLP, where she focused on corporate law matters, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other transactional matters.

Potter earned a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland, a law degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in banking and financial law from Boston University.

Mackey’s retirement agreement provides that he will remain a non-officer employee of Five Star through 2019. He has been with Five Star since its founding in 2001 and has served as president and CEO since 2008.

Five Star Senior Living Inc. is publicly traded senior living and healthcare services company that owns, leases and manages over 280 senior living communities. The company is based in the Boston suburb of Newton.
