Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest Changes Name to Transforming Age

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest, a nonprofit seniors housing operator, has changed its name to Transforming Age. The company is based in Bellevue and operates three continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in Seattle: Skyline, Parkshore and Fred Lind Manor.

“Recently, it became clear that we had outgrown our original name,” says Torsten Hirche, president and CEO of Transforming Age. “While we honor our heritage, Transforming Age better reflects our mission and vision going forward.”

When the organization opened in 1956, it offered one of the first CCRC options in the state of Washington. The organization recently expanded its family of communities with the Fred Lind Manor affiliation in 2014. The company recently secured a $130 million fixed-rate bond issue, with plans to use at least $30 million to reposition both Fred Lind Manor and Parkshore.

The new brand also includes a new tagline (“live without limits”) and an online forum named “When I’m 99.” The forum will include curated and original content about influencing public policy and combatting ageism.

In addition to operating the three CCRCs, Transforming Age provides sales/marketing, development, construction, accounting, finance, IT and consulting services.
