WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Real Estate Roundtable (RER), a public policy organization that represents the interests of the real estate industry, has selected Debra Cafaro as its chair.
Cafaro is chairman and CEO of Ventas (NYSE: VTR), a massive healthcare REIT and the third largest owner of seniors housing properties in the United States. Her term began July 1, the start of the organization’s fiscal year.
Cafaro is the eighth chair and first woman to serve in the role since the formation of the RER in 1997. She replaces William Rudin, co-chairman and CEO of Rudin Management Co.
