COMMACK, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Health has approved the start of resident reservations at Fountaingate Gardens, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) under development in Commack, which is on Long Island.

Gurwin is developing the community. Construction will begin once 75 percent of the 176 proposed units are reserved. The property has already cleared zoning approvals from the town and county, as well as height variances.

A specific timeline for delivery has not been announced. Once completed, the property will offer independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation.
