Tutera’s Mike Levitt Elected President of Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators, as Company Promotes Ryan Fischer to VP Position

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, a Kansas City-based operator of 47 communities in 13 states, has promoted Ryan Fischer to vice president of business development. The company also announced that Mike Levitt, vice president and chief compliance officer, has been elected president of the Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators.

Levitt has served on the board since 2011 and has been vice president since 2015. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon appointed Levitt to the new position. The one-year term began January 2018.

The Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators is responsible for advocating for Missouri’s long-term care residents by licensing prospective and current administrators to ensure the highest quality standards of care.

Levitt brings more than 31 years of experience as a licensed nursing home care administrator with Tutera, where he oversees Tutera’s Continua Home Health program. Levitt also manages government relations for Tutera’s senior living facilities, communities and agencies.

A Kansas City native, Levitt will serve on the American Health Care Association Survey/Regulatory Committee for the 2018/2019 year. He is also vice president of the Missouri Health Care Association Board and a member of the Health Care Compliance Association.

Fischer was previously director of managed care and business development for Tutera. In his new vice president position, he will lead managed care contracts, as well as assist with staff recruitment and development, corporate compliance and government relations.

An 18-year veteran of the healthcare and senior living industries, Fischer has been with Tutera for seven years. He received a master’s degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Truman Medical Centers Charitable Foundation, as the chair of the Saint Luke’s Continuing Care Network Skilled Nursing Facility Payor Relations Committee, and on the Leawood Chamber of Commerce.
