2Life Breaks Ground on 150-Unit Affordable Seniors Housing Development Near Boston

LYNN, Mass. — 2Life Communities has broken ground on a new affordable seniors housing development in Lynn, roughly 13 miles northeast of downtown Boston. 

Upon completion, the project, Solimine House, will total 150 apartments reserved for residents age 62 and older earning up to 60 percent of the area median income. 

Completion of construction is scheduled for fall 2027. The project team includes architect MASS Design Group, general contractor Dellbrook|JKS, landscape and civil engineer Stantec, construction manager Tierney Development Services and law firm Klein Hornig LLP.

Sources of funding for the project include the Charles H. Farnsworth Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee; Citizens Bank; the City of Lynn; the Community Economic Development Assistance Corp.; Congressional economic development initiative funding; the Cummings Foundation; Eastern Bank Foundation; Element Care; the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation; Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development; the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities; the Massachusetts Housing Partnership; MassDevelopment; MassHousing; Mass Save; RBC Capital Markets; and the Solimine Charitable Corp.

2Life owns and operates 12 communities across seven campuses in Massachusetts. The nonprofit is currently underway on four other projects.
