GREENVILLE, Del. — Acts Retirement-Life Communities is set to begin work on a $70 million expansion at Country House, a continuing care retirement community in Greenville, a suburb of Wilmington.
The project will add 20 cottage homes, 55 apartments and a clubhouse with new amenities to the community’s 48-acre campus.
The first phase of the three-year project is scheduled to begin before the end of this month, comprising the cottage homes. The 2,100-square-foot cottages will be adjacent to walking trails and feature two-car garages.
The second phase of the project includes construction of the clubhouse and apartments. The clubhouse will include new restaurant venues, a performance center, and a new fitness and aquatic center. The apartments, ranging in size from 1,400 to 2,200 square feet, will be located within two new wings.
Following its affiliation with Acts in 2010, Country House embarked on a master-planning process to expand and renovate the nonprofit community. Approximately 230 residents currently reside at the property.
