HONOLULU — Coastal Rim Properties has purchased a 12,842-square-foot land parcel in downtown Honolulu from an affiliate of Next Realty for an undisclosed price. The buyer plans to develop a 20-story affordable seniors housing tower on the property, which is located at 1192 Alakea St. The site currently houses a vacant parking lot. Steven Sofos of Sofos Realty Corp. represented the seller. Matt David and Terry Jackson of Cushman & Wakefield’s Land Advisory Group in San Diego provided advisory services for the transaction.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Locally based general contractor KWA Construction has broken ground on Phase II of the Columbia Renaissance Square multifamily project. The new building will add 120 independent living units. Phase I of the project, which Columbia Residential and Renaissance Heights Development Group are developing, delivered 140 units, the majority of which were affordable housing residences. Phase II is scheduled for completion in December.
CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. — Greystone has provided an $8.6 million construction loan for the expansion of Bristol Village, an 84-unit, 110-bed assisted living and memory care community in Clarence Center, approximately 20 miles northeast of Buffalo. The fixed-rate loan will fund the construction of 23,000 square feet of residential and community spaces, which will include 32 additional beds. The facility was originally constructed in 2003. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Walker & Dunlop has structured $10.1 million in construction and permanent financing for Spring Flats. The project calls for the redevelopment of a historic property known as The Hebrew Home, located in the Petworth neighborhood of Northwest Washington, D.C. NEW YORK CITY — Home Street Partners has completed construction of Home Street Residences, an affordable housing community in the Bronx The 75,000-square-foot building rises eight stories in the Foxhurst neighborhood. Of the 63 apartments, 30 percent are reserved for homeless seniors. Units average 550 square feet. Body Lawson Associates designed the property. Bronx Pro Group is the operator, and DreamYard designed the programming. Approximately 50,000 people have already applied for an apartment, according to Body Lawson Associates.
SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Massachusetts-based Casa Builders and Developers has started construction of Wyman Farms, a 26-unit senior living community in Shrewsbury, an eastern suburb of Worcester. The property will feature 13 duplex-style residences with two bedrooms each that will be restricted to residents age 55 and older. The property is located near UMass Memorial Medical Center University Campus, multiple golf courses and retailers such as Wegmans, Walmart and Whole Foods Market.
