LEXINGTON, Mass. — Waterstone has appointed Fred Kelly as the executive director of Waterstone of Lexington in the Boston suburb of Lexington. Kelly joins the independent and assisted living community after serving as executive director for its adjacent sister community, Bridges by EPOCH at Lexington, since July 2021. Waterstone of Lexington opened in November 2022. Habitech Acquisitions to Develop 141-Unit Active Adult Community in Stow, Massachusetts

STOW, Mass. — Massachusetts-based developer Habitech Acquisitions has acquired 37.3 acres in Stow, about 30 miles west of Boston, with plans to construct a 141-unit active adult community. Known as The Cottages at Wandering Pond, the project will feature a recreation area with walking trails, as well as a clubhouse, pool, activity lawn and a pickleball court. Jake Parsons of SVN | Parsons Commercial Group | Boston represented the seller, EFMC Associates, in the land deal and procured Habitech Acquisitions as the buyer. MEDFORD, MASS. — MassHousing has provided $13.5 million in financing for Riverside Towers, a 199-unit affordable seniors housing complex in Medford, located north of Boston. Built in 1979, Riverside Towers consists of 161 one-bedroom and 38 two-bedroom units in a 14-story building. The borrower, a partnership between metro Boston-based Schochet Cos. and Jonathan Rose Cos., will use the proceeds to fund capital improvements, enhance resident services and preserve the property’s affordability status.
