WIMBERLEY, Texas — Civitas Senior Living has opened the doors on Alexis Pointe Senior Living in Wimberley, a small city between Austin and San Antonio. Totaling 55,000 square feet, the property features 10 independent living cottages, 49 assisted living apartments and 24 memory care suites. The community is located a quarter mile from the Wimberley Senior Center and a half mile from Wimberley Town Square. Civitas now owns and operates 40 seniors housing communities, with 15 more under development.

DALLAS — Buckner Senior Living has opened the assisted living and memory care units at Ventana by Buckner, a 301-unit high-rise seniors housing community in Dallas. The 189 independent living units opened in November 2019. The State of Texas granted the license for the 38 assisted living and 26 memory care apartments, and residents have begun moving in. Ventana is Dallas’ first and only luxury high-rise continuing care retirement community, according to Buckner. The property also features 48 skilled nursing apartments and 24 rehabilitation suites.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors has arranged the sale of Wyoming Springs, a 100-unit assisted living and memory care community in Round Rock, a suburb of Austin. One Liberty Properties Inc. (NYSE: OLP), a publicly traded REIT based in New York, sold the property for an undisclosed price. SUGAR LAND, Texas — CBRE has arranged a $28.2 million bridge loan to refinance debt on Overture Sugar Land, a 200-unit active adult community in the Houston suburb of Sugar Land. The borrower is Greystar Development, which launched the Overture brand in 2013. There are now 29 Overture-branded active adult properties totaling over 7,500 units in the United States. SAN ANTONIO — The Ensign Group Inc. (NASDAQ: ENSG) has acquired the real estate and operations of The Healthcare Center at Patriot Heights, a seniors housing campus in San Antonio. The property features 59 skilled nursing beds and 158 independent living units. The seller and price were not disclosed. This acquisition brings Ensign’s portfolio to 214 skilled nursing operations, 23 of which also include assisted living, across 13 states. Ensign owns the real estate at 90 of those properties.

SPRING, Texas — Frontier Management has broken ground on The Landing at Augusta Woods, a 120-unit seniors housing community in Spring, a northern suburb of Houston. The property, which will include 75 units for independent living and 45 assisted living units, is set to open in early 2021. The project team includes general contractor Regent Construction, architect Jeffrey DeMure & Associates and construction lender UCB. Frontier Management will operate Landing at Augusta Woods, joining the more than 100 seniors housing communities in its management portfolio.
