Erickson Opens $500M Avery Point CCRC in Short Pump, Virginia

SHORT PUMP, Va. — Erickson Senior Living has opened the doors on Avery Point, a continuing care retirement community in Short Pump, a suburb of Richmond. The community is situated on a 94-acre campus and currently features 216 units of independent living. A second phase currently under construction will add 107 more independent living units. Upon full build-out, plans call for 1,160 independent living units in addition to an on-site continuing care neighborhood offering assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing services. ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA) has partnered with WinnCompanies and IBF Development to redevelop The Ladrey, an 11-story affordable seniors housing community in Alexandria. Enterprise Community Development, Fellowship Square County Open 240-Unit Lake Anne House in Reston, Virginia

RESTON, Va. — Enterprise Community Development and Fellowship Square will cut the ribbon Sept. 29 on Lake Anne House, an affordable seniors housing community in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Reston. The community features 240 units for low-income seniors. The project was a redevelopment of a 1970s-era property. The developers constructed the new building on an underutilized portion of the site, adjacent to the original Lake Anne Fellowship House. MOSELEY, Va. — Watercrest Senior Living Group has hired Marsha Sottung as executive director of Watercrest Richmond Assisted Living and Memory Care in Moseley. Watercrest Richmond is currently under construction and preparing to welcome residents this fall to the 98-unit luxury senior living community. Sottung was the youngest assisted living administrator in the state of New York at the age of 21. For the past 30 years, she has served in various roles as a certified nursing aide, operations director and regional manager.

Foundry Commercial Buys 24-Property Spring Arbor Senior Living Portfolio in Mid-Atlantic

ORLANDO — Foundry Commercial, in partnership with an investment fund managed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, has purchased the Spring Arbor Senior Living collection of 24 assisted living and memory care communities across the Mid-Atlantic. As part of the transaction, Foundry Commercial acquired the current operator, which will continue to manage the properties post-closing.
