COLUMBIA, S.C. — Colliers International has brokered the sale of a 64-bed skilled nursing and assisted living community in Columbia.
Although the name and price were not disclosed, the announced price per bed of $37,500 equates to approximately $2.4 million. The property traded at an 11.5 percent capitalization rate.
The community was built in the 1980s, but received regular updates and renovations over the years. The buyer was Mainstay Senior Living, which sought to gain economies of scale with its other facility in the state. The seller was not disclosed.
The buyer plans to add a dedicated post-acute rehabilitation unit, upgrade clinical capabilities, build a new commercial kitchen and expand the footprint.
