SKOKIE, Ill. — Covenant Living Communities and Services — a nonprofit, faith-based senior living organization headquartered in Skokie — has hired Darrell Baltimore as chief operating officer.
In his new role, Baltimore will work closely with executive leadership at Covenant Living and with top leadership at each of the organization’s 20 communities across the country to guide operations such as dining services, facilities management, resident life, skilled nursing, assisted living and memory support. His official start date was Oct. 14.
Baltimore has more than 25 years of experience in the field of senior housing and dining operations. He most recently served as a senior leader at Chicago-based Vi Senior Living.
Baltimore is a U.S. Army veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division and received his master’s degree in Long-Term Care, Senior Housing and Aging Services from the University of North Texas, and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston in South Carolina.
Covenant Living Communities and Services serves 6,000 residents in 11 states and offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitation.
The American Seniors Housing Association ranked the organization as the 39th largest operator of U.S. seniors housing as of June 1, 2024, with 5,474 units in its portfolio.
Covenant Living is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church and has been serving seniors since 1886.
