RALEIGH, N.C. — Kisco Senior Living has announced plans for a 15-story tower at its existing The Cardinal at North Hills continuing care retirement community in Raleigh.
The project will add 160 units of independent living and assisted living, with some apartments larger than 2,000 square feet. The expansion will also add amenities such as new dining venues available to all residents at the community.
Located in the heart of Midtown Raleigh, the community has a long waiting list, which spurred the expansion plans. The property is located within the North Hills master-planned community, which offers a variety of retail, restaurants, theaters, medical services, parks and entertainment within walking distance.
THW Design, an Atlanta-based architectural firm, is designing the expansion. The entire campus is a joint venture with Welltower, the largest REIT in the seniors housing space by market cap.
The project is undergoing the approval process with state and local agencies, with groundbreaking scheduled for 2019.
