BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — MatrixCare, a Bloomington-based technology company serving the long-term care industry, has hired Gary Pederson as senior vice president of life plan community solutions.
Pederson will be responsible for the company’s sales, account retention, marketing, operations, research and development regarding the life plan sub-sector of seniors housing, better known as continuing care retirement communities.
Pederson most recently served as president of two business units of Ascend Learning LLC, a Providence Equity Partners portfolio company. Prior to Ascend, Pederson spent 15 years in various management capacities with Cerner Corp., most recently serving as U.S. vice president and general manager of the Population Health Division. He won General Manager of the Year honors with the company in 2010 after growing division revenues from $5 million to $70 million in a three-year span.
Prior to Cerner, Pederson worked at Toshiba Medical Systems and Siemens Medical Systems in management capacities.
The hiring coincides with a new point-of-sale system that Matrixcare announced at the LeeadingAge Annual Meeting & EXPO in Indianapolis last week. The new software is designed to streamline and improve dining services at seniors housing communities.
