BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Methodist Homes of Alabama & Northwest Florida has started construction of a 38-unit independent living and assisted living expansion at Fair Haven, a continuing care retirement community in Birmingham.
The addition is the final phase of Fair Haven’s $42 million renovation and construction project. Finished expansions so far included new assisted living, rehabilitation and long-term care units, renovations of existing units, and introduction of the Household Model.
The final phase of the project will add 15 independent living units and 23 assisted living units. It is slated to open this fall.
In addition to the new apartment homes, the project includes changes and upgrades for the common areas, including a new salon, gift shop and grand living room with fireplace. Dining options will include formal, restaurant-style dining, a casual bistro, and an ice cream parlor.
