AdCare Appoints Thomas Knaup and Allan Rimland to Board of Directors, Replacing Brogdon and Radcliffe

ATLANTA —AdCare Health Systems Inc. (NYSE MKT: ADK) (NYSE MKT: ADK.PRA), an owner of 39 skilled nursing and assisted living properties throughout the U.S., has appointed Thomas Knaup and Allan Rimland to its board of directors.

Christopher Brogdon, who announced his resignation at 2015 annual meeting of shareholders, and Philip Radcliffe, who decided to retire from the board upon the expiration of his term, left the vacancies filled by Knaup and Rimland.

As an independent director, Knaup will bring consulting expertise to AdCare. Knaup worked for Aon, California, a risk management firm, for 12 years most recently serving as senior vice president. Previously, he served in a variety of executive roles with senior management responsibilities at Alexander & Alexander, Emmett & Chandler, Near North and Warren McVeigh Griffin. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geology and an MBA with a concentration in finance and accounting, both from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Rimland has served as AdCare’s president and CFO since April of 2015. He has over 20 years of healthcare services investment banking experience, including positions with investment banks. Rimland joined AdCare from Stephens Inc. where he served as managing director in the healthcare group, focusing on healthcare services companies.
