Mark Parrell to Resign from Brookdale Board Of Directors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mark Parrell has announced that he will resign from the Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) Board of Directors, effective July 24.

Parrell is CFO and executive vice president with Equity Residential Investments (NYSE: EQR), a publicly traded multifamily investor. He was previously on the board of Aviv REIT, as well.

The resignation is slated to occur on the same day of Brookdale’s 2017 annual meeting of stockholders. Parrell said he needed to dedicate more time to other professional commitments.

Brookdale Senior Living Inc. is the largest owner and operator of seniors housing communities in the United States. Based on the American Seniors Housing Association’s numbers as of June 1, 2016, Brookdale operated 1,101 properties totaling 104,878 units.
