KENTWOOD, Mich. — Pathway to Living, a Chicago-based owner-operator, has acquired Elmcroft of Kentwood, an 54,387-square-foot assisted living and memory care community in the Grand Rapids suburb of Kentwood.

Pathway has rebranded the property Azpira Place of Breton and has taken over operations. It is Pathway’s first community in Michigan.

The new owner plans to implement a capital improvement program that will upgrade interiors and add common spaces to the community. Some units will be reconfigured, bringing the total number of units to 69 assisted living units and 12 memory care units.

Set on a 5-acre site near the intersection of Breton Road and 44th Street, Azpira Place of Breton is conveniently located near retail centers and restaurants, recreational destinations including golf courses, and Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The purchase of the five-acre property was Pathway’s first acquisition of 2018. The company now owns and/or manages 29 communities totaling 2,800 units.

Bradley Clousing, Jeff Binder and Ryan Saul of Senior Living Investment Brokerage arranged the transaction.
