ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Argentum has named Angela Kennedy as the association’s vice president of quality and accreditation, a newly created position. Kennedy will build on the work of Argentum’s Phase 1 Standards, which address key imperatives designed to complement state laws and regulations regarding seniors housing.
“The creation of this new position and the addition of Angela to the Argentum team reinforces the commitment of Argentum and its members to the importance of professional standards,” says James Balda, Argentum president & CEO. “These standards are a key step toward promoting rigorous, professional self-regulation, and demonstrate the senior living industry’s commitment to quality service for consumers.”
Kennedy was most recently director of quality improvement for the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), where her duties included strategic leadership for initiating, developing, managing and evaluating the organization‘s quality programs and initiatives. The quality programs included developing an accreditation program, quality metrics and national standards.
Kennedy also has been a project manager for multiple projects within the Department of Health and Human Services for Booz Allen Hamilton and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland.
Kennedy is vice chair of the Quality Improvement/Practice Improvement Component group for the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, a member of the Leading Practices Committee for the National Quality Registry Network and a member of the Joint Commission task force for the project ADOPT (Adaptation and Dissemination Outpatient Infection PrevenTion) Guidance.
Kennedy earned her master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in operations management from Loyola University, as well as a second bachelor’s in biological sciences with a concentration in genetics from the University California, Irvine. She earned her doctorate Palmer College of Chiropractic West.
Argentum, formerly known as the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), is a national association. Its member companies are operators of senior living communities offering assisted living, independent living, continuing care, and memory care services. The association is based in Alexandria.
