BALTIMORE, Md. — The Shelter Group and Brightview Senior Living have hired Doug Dollenberg Jr. as president of both companies. The current president, Marilynn Duker, has been promoted to CEO and Arnold Richman will remain chairman of both companies.
Brightview is the senior living operations arm of The Shelter Group, a Baltimore-based real estate developer.
Dollenberg was an engineer at Whitman, Requardt and Associates before becoming a consultant at McKinsey & Co. He most recently served on the executive leadership team at TESSCO, where he led the commercial product management organization for the distributor of wireless products and solutions.
“While Doug’s specific work experience is in a field very different from ours, we quickly became convinced that he has all the right capabilities, attributes and cultural values to help lead Brightview Senior Living into our next phase of growth,” says Duker.
Dollenberg graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Brightview operates 33 seniors housing communities in the eastern United States.
