TAMPA, Fla. — Validus Group Partners Ltd., a Tampa-based investment firm, has hired Richard Mocsari as chief financial officer. Mocsari will lead the firm’s finance and accounting functions, along with corporate finance duties related to Validus’ current holdings and new investments.
Validus Group Partners and its affiliates serve the medical device, senior living, commercial real estate and financial services sectors. Mario Garcia Jr. founded the company in 2004.
Mocsari brings 25 years of corporate finance experience to Validus and was formerly the CFO of GulfShore Bank, also headquartered in Tampa. During his six years at GulfShoreBank, Mocsari helped successfully raise both institutional private equity and local capital. The bank also achieved double-digit annual growth in assets, loans and profits, leading to the successful sale of the company to Seacoast Bank (NASDAQ: SBCF) in a transaction valued more than $70 million dollars upon closing in April 2017.
Prior to joining GulfShore, Mocsari served as CFO for Sembler Investments, as principal in mergers & acquisitions for CLB Partners, and as a vice president in Bank of America’s middle market banking group.
Mocsari holds an M.B.A. from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of South Florida.
