ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), a seniors housing advocacy group that recently announced it will soon change its name to Argentum, is launching an industry fund to support advocacy efforts at the state level.
The organization’s board of directors voted unanimously to launch the inaugural 2016 Advocacy Fund with an initial goal of $1 million.
Before even reaching out to other ALFA members and industry partners, the board pledged $930,000 to the fund. The companies making the pledge are: Atria, Belmont, Benchmark, Brandywine, Brookdale, Direct Supply, Elmcroft Senior Living, Five Star Senior Living, Genesis HealthCare, Holiday Retirement, Integral Senior
Living, Kensington Senior Living, Legend Senior Living, Life Care Services,
Merrill Gardens, New Perspective Senior Living, RPM Management, Silverado, Stellar Senior Living, Sunrise Senior Living, Vi Living, and Welltower.
The fund, restricted specifically to efforts such as government, legal and public affairs, will support industry initiatives across multiple states related to regulatory reform efforts. The ALFA board will be responsible for approving all initiatives.
The new fund complements ALFA PAC, and ALFA’s grassroots advocacy efforts
on Capitol Hill.
