ST. LOUIS — Ascension Living, a faith-based operator based in St. Louis, has named Erin Shadbolt its new chief executive officer. She will provide strategic and operational leadership over Ascension’s diversified seniors housing services, including independent living, assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation.
In addition to serving as CEO, Shadbolt continues in the dual role of vice president of post-acute and at-home services.
Shadbolt joined Ascension in 2022 and has held several key positions, including chief nursing officer of post-acute and at-home services and interim chief operating officer.
Previously, Shadbolt served as a nurse administrator in the Mayo Clinic Health System, where she implemented hospital-at-home programs and oversaw home health, hospice, senior services in skilled nursing facilities, and palliative care in northwest Wisconsin. Additionally, she managed inpatient and outpatient obstetrics at Mayo.
Shadbolt received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She is also a nursing fellow of the Golisano Institute for Intellectual and Developmental Disability Nursing at St. John Fisher College in New York City. She recently completed a certificate in healthcare innovation and implementation through Indiana University.
