Buckner Completes $29.8M Independent Living Expansion at Community in Austin

by Jeff Shaw

AUSTIN, Texas — Buckner Retirement Services, a faith-based owner-operator, has completed a $29.8 million expansion at Buckner Villas in North Austin.

The project added a new building featuring 69 independent living apartments, as well as 70 underground parking spaces. Common areas were also renovated, including an expansion of the dining areas, salon and meeting space, as well as addition of a theater and interior design upgrades.

The project was spurred by the long waiting list for apartments in Buckner Villas. The expansion took nearly two years. Residents have begun moving into the new building. Partners on the project included Hill and Wilkinson General Contractors, Barbara J. Vessels Interiors Inc. and D2 Architecture.
