Callahan Starts Construction of 83,000 SF The Mariner Community in Marblehead, Massachusetts

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — Callahan Construction Managers has broken ground on The Mariner in Marblehead, located on the coastal North Shore area near Boston. The 83,000 square foot, three-story building will feature 61 assisted living units and 26 memory care units, with a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. The Northbridge Cos., in partnership with the local development team of Heather Cairns, Michael Lafayette and Philip Helmes, is developing the building with EGA serving as the architect. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2023.

Blueprint Brokers Sale of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living Community in Northbridge, Massachusetts

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. — Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors has arranged the sale of a seniors housing campus featuring 154 skilled nursing beds and 26 assisted living units in the Worcester suburb of Northbridge. The community, which was not named, was built in 1970 on 13 acres. It totals 93,000 square feet following expansions in 1995 and 2005. Owner-operator Salmon Health and Retirement sold the property as a non-core community in its portfolio. A Massachusetts-based investor acquired the asset for an undisclosed price.

SLIB Negotiates Sale of 82-Unit Legacy at Highwoods Preserve in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. — Senior Living Investment Brokerage (SLIB) has arranged the sale of The Legacy at Highwoods Preserve, and 82-unit assisted living and memory care community in Tampa. The community was developed by the seller in 2015 and operated by its affiliate operating company. This asset was an operational outlier for the company, representing its last asset in the Southeast The buyer was Alta Senior Living, which is strategically growing its operating presence in Florida.
