Journey Capital Starts Phase III Expansion at Edition of Saginaw in Texas

SAGINAW, Texas — Journey Capital has broken ground on the third phase of development at Edition of Saginaw Senior Living in Saginaw, just north of Fort Worth.  The phase will add 36 independent living cottages to the property. In partnership with Journey Capital’s affiliate operating arm led by Shawn Corzine of SilverPoint Senior Living, Journey unveiled Phase I of the Edition of Saginaw Senior Living community in January 2022, featuring 22 independent living cottages. SLIB Negotiates Sale of 120-Unit The Wellington in St. Paul, Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Senior Living Investment Brokerage (SLIB) has arranged the sale of The Wellington, a 120-unit independent living and assisted living community in St. Paul. The community was built in 1985 and encompasses 124,468 square feet on 1.7 acres. The seller was a multifamily owner/developer looking to focus on its market-rate portfolio. The buyer was a large seniors housing nonprofit looking to expand its footprint in Minnesota. The price was not disclosed. The buyer plans to convert the building to all independent living. Morningside Ministries Plans 86-Unit Expansion for Morningside at Menger Springs in Boerne, Texas

BOERNE, Texas — Morningside Ministries has unveiled plans for an independent living expansion at Morningside at Menger Springs, a continuing care retirement community in Boerne, approximately 30 miles northwest of San Antonio. The project features 86 new independent living terrace homes, an amphitheater, dining venue, fitness center, pickleball court and covered pool. The plan features four two-story residential buildings with one and two-bedroom floor plans ranging from 946 to 1,751 square feet. Ventas Transitions 26 Independent Living Communities to New Operators

CHICAGO — Ventas (NYSE: VTR), a Chicago-based REIT, has named three new operators for a portfolio of independent living communities in Texas, Florida and California. Sodalis Senior Living will take over management of 13 communities in Texas, while Priority Life Care will operate eight properties in Florida and Discovery Senior Living will operate five in California. Ventas “is expanding its successful existing relationships with the three managers to increase occupancy and performance in these communities,” the company said in a press release. LCS Completes Phase I of $75M Expansion at WhiteStone CCRC in Greensboro, North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Life Care Services (LCS) has completed the first phase of a $75 million expansion project at WhiteStone, a continuing care retirement community in Greensboro. LCS manages the Masonic and Eastern Star community. This phase of the expansion added 67 one- and two-bedroom independent living units to the property. Lifespace Completes Independent Living Renovation at Oak Trace in Downers Grove, Illinois

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Lifespace has completed renovations to the independent living building at Oak Trace, a continuing care retirement community in Downers Grove, approximately 20 miles west of Chicago. The renovations were part of a $112 million full-campus redevelopment.
