LITTLETON, Colo. — Athem Memory Care has named Danae Mierau as executive director of Willowbrook Place in Littleton. She will be overseeing all daily care, programming and operations. Mierau previously was director of rehabilitation and physical therapy with Legacy Healthcare in Littleton. She has also served as a physical therapist with Berkley Home Health Care in Aurora. Mierau graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy and a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the University of Missouri.

MURIETA, Calif. — Anthem Memory Care has named Arlene Crawford as executive director for Vineyard Place, an Anthem community in Murrieta. In this capacity, she will oversee all daily care, programming and operations. Crawford previously was operations manager of Clearwater South Bay in Torrance. She has also served as operations manager at Elmcroft Senior Living in San Diego. Crawford brings over 16 years of senior living experience, including 10 years as executive director, to her new position. EAGLE LAKE, Texas — Nexion Health has opened Eagle’s Landing, a memory care community within its Arbor Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Eagle Lake. Located in the small city of Eagle Lake, approximately 70 miles west of Houston, the asset offers 20 units. The Arbor Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center was one of nine Texas facilities where Nexion Health took over operations in December 2020.

OCALA, Fla. — Senior Living Investment Brokerage (SLIB) has arranged the sale of a three-community, 144-unit assisted living portfolio in the Ocala metro area. The Belleview and 24th Road communities provide memory care services and consist of 41 units and 42 units respectively; the Deerwood community provides assisted living services and consists of 61 units. The Hampton Manor portfolio will provide the existing operator a fee-simple ownership within its existing operating platform. The buyer, seller and price were not disclosed. Bradley Clousing and Jeff Binder handled the transaction (SLIB).

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — Braemar Partners has unveiled plans for Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge, an assisted living and memory care community in Basking Ridge, approximately 35 miles west of Manhattan. Groundbreaking is scheduled for later this year for completion in early 2023. When completed, the property will feature 27 assisted living apartments, 24 units for seniors in early stages of dementia and 29 units for full memory care. SAN DIMAS, Calif. — Advocacy Development Partners and Frontier Management have opened The Terraces of Via Verde, a memory care community in San Dimas, approximately 25 miles east of Los Angeles. Totaling 32 units on 1.2 acres, the developers claim the property to be the first memory care-only community in San Dimas. The location is near Via Verde Park and Via Verde Plaza, a grocery-anchored shopping plaza. The asset is separated into two separate, secured, 15,000-square-foot neighborhoods with 16 units each.

RYE, N.H. — Benchmark Senior Living has completed a community enhancement initiative and rebranding of its memory care community in Rye. Evolve at Rye is now Benchmark at Rye. Benchmark purchased and began operating the community in November 2020. In addition to offering long-term residency, Benchmark at Rye is also a short-term respite care provider for those needing a break from caregiving, require extra care temporarily or a seek a trial of community living. Benchmark is looking to add traditional assisted living on the same campus.

Life’s Journey of Taylorville features 46 units in 25,000 square feet on a 4.2 acre plot. The community was built in 2012 and renovated in 2014. Occupancy was 69 percent at the time of sale. RICHMOND and VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors has arranged the sale of two memory care communities in Richmond and Virginia Beach ProMedica acquired the assets with ownership partner Welltower for $31 million. The seller was not disclosed. The portfolio included two fully stabilized communities that boasted high occupancy and above-market rates. The Memory Center Richmond consists of 48 units and opened in 2015 while The Memory Center Virginia Beach consists of 48 units and opened in 2008.
