OWNINGS MILLS, Md. — Senior Lifestyle has unveiled renovation plans for Atrium Village, an independent living, assisted living and memory care community in the Baltimore suburb of Ownings Mills. The multi-million-dollar project is planned in phases, starting with exterior and façade improvements. Phase II will renovate the lobby, corridors, elevators and unit interiors. Atrium Village’s community spaces will also be updated, including its two restaurant-style dining venues and a multi-purpose room. An additional bistro-style dining venue is planned. The project is scheduled for completion in summer of 2021.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA), in partnership with Seniors Housing Business, has released the 2020 edition of the ASHA 50, which ranks the 50 largest owners and operators in the U.S. seniors housing space. OHIO — Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors has arranged a new lease for four skilled nursing facilities in Ohio for an undisclosed price. The portfolio is located in northwest Ohio near the Indiana border, as well as the Columbus and Cincinnati metro areas. The four properties total 613 licensed beds. The Columbus-based operator was seeking an exit to the skilled nursing industry, so the REIT owner sought a replacement. Blueprint helped replace the operator and negotiate the new lease.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Council on Aging (NCOA) has appointed Ramsey Alwin as the organization’s new chief executive officer. Alwin replaces James Firman, who led NCOA for 25 years until his retirement earlier this year. Alwin is an experienced public policy leader in addressing issues related to aging in America. Fenoglio brings more than 25 years of operations leadership experience in both public and private senior living organizations.
