CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Commonwealth Senior Living has hired three new leadership team members to oversee the operations at Commonwealth’s portfolio of communities in the Northern, Southwest and Eastern/Peninsula regions. Monet Morris has been named senior regional vice president and both Victoria Leitgeb and Rebecca Sturtz have been named regional vice presidents.
Morris has over 10 years of experience in the assisted living, personal care, and hospital industries. She is a licensed Assisted Living Administrator, LPN and has a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration. She most recently served as market vice president of Richmond Jencare, providing leadership and management for four centers in the greater Richmond area serving over 4,500 patients with the development and delivery of Medicare Advantage programs.
Prior to working at Jencare, Morris was the chief operating officer and acting chief executive officer for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute for several years. She also has experience at Brookdale Senior Living, Grace Healthcare and Sunrise Senior Living as an executive director. In her new role as, Morris will oversee the operations of Commonwealth’s Peninsula communities and provide support to the company’s Eastern communities.
Leitgeb was most recently regional director of operations with Legend Senior Living for over three years, providing leadership and management of communities. She received her LPN from Northampton Community College and her PCH Administrator Certificate. Before working at Legend, she served as the director of operations for Good Neighbor Care, where she worked for many years in a multi-state capacity working closely with the community teams and multiple investor groups.
Leitgeb has also worked in many well-known senior living companies as a director of nursing and an executive director. In her new role, Leitgeb will oversee the operations of Commonwealth’s Northern communities.
Sturtz was most recently regional director of operations with Five Star Senior Living, providing leadership and management for 13 centers in North and South Carolina. Prior to working at Five Star, she served as the regional director of operations for Century Park’s Southeast region.
Sturtz has also worked as a senior executive director, vice president of operations and business development in various retirement communities. In her new role, she will oversee Commonwealth’s Southwest communities.
Earlier this year, Commonwealth named Ronda Duckworth as senior regional vice president where she oversees the operations at Commonwealth’s portfolio of communities in its Central and Northwest Regions. In her new role, she also manages Commonwealth’s Center for Excellence, a training and professional development hub designed to provide associates with the skills and tools they need for a successful career in senior living. Duckworth joined Commonwealth in 2013 as a regional vice president of sales and marketing.
In addition to these hires, Commonwealth has also made two internal promotions. Amber Foster, former executive director at Commonwealth Senior Living at Front Royal, has been promoted to regional vice president, where she will oversee the operations of Commonwealth’s Northwest region communities with support from Duckworth. Gary Pelton, former executive director of Commonwealth Senior Living at Kings Grant House, has been promoted to regional vice president, where he will oversee the operations of Commonwealth’s Eastern communities with support from Morris.
