ST. LOUIS and TAMPA — EmpowerMe Wellness, a St. Louis-based integrated healthcare provider serving senior living communities nationwide, has acquired Salus Physical Therapy, one of Florida’s largest providers of outpatient therapy to senior living communities.
Based in Tampa, Salus serves 45 senior communities across the state of Florida. All of Salus’ 175 employees have been offered positions by EmpowerMe Wellness, including therapists and corporate office staff.
With this acquisition, EmpowerMe Wellness will now serve over 450 senior living communities across more than 20 states.
“Through our partnership, EmpowerMe will make a significant investment in our team members and enable us to offer additional services that improve outcomes for our residents,” says Nick Hughes, who co-founded Salus Physical Therapy with Brad Andrews in 2013. Both will join EmpowerMe as part of the company’s leadership team and remain co-owners of EmpowerMe’s Southeast operations.
A tech-enabled, multi-service healthcare provider, EmpowerMe has built a fully integrated healthcare delivery model for seniors housing communities, offering therapy, diagnostic, pharmacy and primary care services.
In the last 12 months, EmpowerMe has expanded operations to more than 20 states and launched multiple new service lines. Their most recent investors include Jim McKelvey, serial entrepreneur and co-founder of Square (NYSE: SQ), and Bob Hermann and Rick Holton of Hermann Cos.
