PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Garden Communities is underway on the development of a new seniors housing community located in Parsippany, roughly 20 miles northwest of Newark.
Upon completion, Ballantine Greens will total 250 residences, with one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Situated on 20 acres, the project is a redevelopment of a private country estate and the former headquarters of GlaxoSmithKline.
Amenities at the community will include a clubhouse with a fitness center, saunas and a sports simulator, as well as a heated swimming pool and spa, activity area, putting green, bocce courts, electric vehicle charging stations and outdoor grilling and dining areas. Additionally, a new Life Time athletic club is currently under construction across the street from the community.
“High-quality age-restricted housing is in demand, especially when it is offered in a beautiful suburban setting in a sought-after town like Parsippany,” says Laura Kosik, an executive at Garden Communities.
An opening date for the community was not disclosed.
