by Jeff Shaw

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — Omega Communities has acquired 10 acres of land in the Atlanta suburb of McDonough, with plans to build an independent living, assisted living and memory community on the site.

Located on the campus of Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church, the community will be named Lake Vista at Eagle’s Landing and offer a total of 200 beds.

Omega is a faith-based, for-profit senior living owner, developer and operator based in Birmingham, Ala. The company’s chief investment officer, Jimmy Taylor, worked with senior leadership at Eagle’s Landing for over two years to make the plan a reality.

Omega plans to break ground on the development before the end of the year. Once completed, the Eagle’s Landing property will be Omega’s sixth seniors housing community in Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
