OXFORD, Miss. — Bobby Towery, president of Oxford-based seniors housing research firm ProMatura, passed away of a heart attack over the weekend. He was 59.
Towery joined the company in 2015 after 30 years in the Army, including serving as assistant professor of military science and battalion executive officer at the University of Mississippi. His last military posting was as the deputy commandant for the United States Army War College.
“As president of ProMatura, Bobby Towery was an excellent manager who cared about every employee,” says Margaret Wylde, the founder and CEO of ProMatura. “He was a great financial manager, a fun and enjoyable colleague, and a great friend.”
Towery’s military awards and commendations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for Valor.
Towery received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in education from The University of Mississippi, as well as a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Army War College.
