BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Sunrise Senior Living has opened Sunrise of Bridgewater, its 23rd seniors housing community in New Jersey.

The three-story, 69,000-square-foot community can house up to 96 assisted living and memory care residents. It is located in Bridgewater, which is between New York City and Philadelphia.

New Jersey’s Division of Aging Services projects the number of residents 60 years old and over to reach nearly 2.3 million by 2025 — a 57.9 percent increase since 2000. Nearby health facilities Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Somerset Medical Center offer access for residents who need temporary acute care, specialized clinical services or check-ups.

Sunrise continues to expand its presence in New Jersey, with plans to open Sunrise of Shrewsbury this fall and Sunrise of Summit by mid-2020.
