MILTON, Fla. — The Vestcor Companies has opened Carter Crossing, a 93-unit affordable seniors housing community in Milton, located at the far west end of the Florida Panhandle.
The community is already 63 percent occupied, having pre-leased all but 20 percent of its units. It’s Vestcor’s second affordable seniors housing community in northwest Florida.
Amenities at the property include a fitness center, living room, activity room with kitchen, movie room, courtyard pavilion with grills for use, outdoor gardens, butterfly garden, dog park and Wi-Fi in the common area. Monthly rates are $623 for a studio, $664 for one-bedroom and $798 for two-bedroom units.
The units at Carter Crossing are income-restricted and reserved for those who make less than 60 percent of the area median income. 11 percent of units are reserved for those who make less than 40 percent of area median income.
Vestcor is a general multifamily developer, but affordable housing communities account for 22 properties in its portfolio.
