MCLEAN, Va. — Sunrise Senior Living, a McLean-based provider of senior living services, has appointed Nick Stengle as chief operating officer (COO) and Tavinder Hare as chief financial officer (CFO).
Stengle brings more than 20 years of executive experience in growth strategy development, global operations and leading major organizational initiatives to Sunrise. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer of Kindred at Home, the largest home health provider in the U.S., where he supported a team of over 30,000 associates as they delivered care to more than 100,000 patients.
Prior to Kindred at Home, Stengle advised private equity portfolio companies including as a member of TPG Capital’s portfolio operations team. Previously, he served as senior vice president of North America operations for HMSHost International and vice president of global operations for Marriot International. Earlier in his career, Stengle was a Project Leader with Boston Consulting Group.
For more than two decades, Hare has served as a finance executive. Before joining Sunrise, he served as chief financial officer of retail real estate for Majid Al Futtaim, a real estate and retail operations organization with a presence in 20 countries and 44,000 employees worldwide. He led a cross-functional effort to transform both finance and operations into a world-class, global real estate operator and helped effectively steer the organization through the global pandemic.
Previously, Hare held senior leadership roles over a twelve-year period with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, one of the world’s largest international REITs, with assets under management of over $60 billion and $14 billion of assets under development. Earlier in his career, he served in various financial positions at Wyndham Worldwide, Anthem and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Hare earned his MBA from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
