MINNEAPOLIS — Health Dimensions Group, a Minneapolis-based senior living, post-acute and long-term care management and consulting firm, has named John Capasso as executive advisor of senior care.
Most recently, Capasso served as executive vice president and president of the continuing care division for Trinity Health, a $20 billion, nonprofit, Catholic health system with 120,000 employees across 88 hospitals and 131 continuing care locations in 25 states. Previously he served as senior vice president of continuing care for Catholic Health East, with 34 hospitals and 9,000 employees.
In his role at HDG, Capasso will provide consulting services to the organization’s clientele, including hospitals, health systems, senior living communities and PACE organizations in the areas of strategy, board development, leadership effectiveness, innovation, new product development, acute and post-acute care integration, turnarounds, and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Capasso serves on the Catholic Health Association (CHA) board of trustees and as a member of their Finance Committee, which oversees the affairs of CHA and sets its strategic direction. He also is on the board of directors for Livanta LLC, the nation’s largest healthcare quality improvement organization and adviser to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Capasso recently served on the American Hospital Association’s Post-Acute Care Committee.
Capasso holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Geneva College. Additionally, he is licensed nursing home administrator, earned a post-graduate certificate from the Fairfax Hospital School of Cardiopulmonary Technology and is a residential housing professional. Capasso is also a national speaker and author on quality and safety in senior care.
