MIAMI, Fla. — The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) has awarded Seniors Housing Business magazine the Silver Award for Best Commercial Trade Magazine.
A panel of expert judges from the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University selected all award winners. The association, in judge’s comments released along with the award, lauded the magazine’s high-level design and journalistic relevance to its readership. The comments also acknowledged the growing influence of the seniors housing industry as a sector of commercial real estate.
“Addressing a growing niche in the real estate field, this magazine has a sharp design and solid editorial content,” according to the judge’s comments. “It covers an increasingly important demographic group, which is a timely topic.”
Seniors Housing Business is a trade magazine for professionals in the seniors housing industry. It has published a bi-monthly print edition since 2012, and added a weekly e-newsletter and daily website news earlier this year.
“It’s both very exciting and gratifying to see Seniors Housing Business recognized as one of the best commercial real estate industry publications in the country, across all property types and sectors,” says Seniors Housing Business publisher Richard Kelley. “This award is a reflection of how quickly the magazine has come to be a leader in its space and is testament to the great talents and effort of our editorial team of Matt Valley, Jeff Shaw, Jane Adler and Bendix Anderson, and our designer Robin Sherman.”
