MADISON and BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Atlas Senior Living has assumed management of two communities in northern Alabama: Monark Grove Madison in Madison and Monark Grove Greystone in Birmingham.
KIRCO, a national commercial real estate development and investment firm based in Troy, Mich., built and owns the communities. KIRCO is also a partner with Atlas at the Legacy Reserve at Fritz Farm community in Lexington, Ky.
“Our experience working together in Kentucky has set a high bar, and we look forward to continuing to redefine the senior living experience through our expanded collaboration,” says Matt Coughenour, vice president of senior living at KIRCO.
The two Monark communities will expand Atlas’ growing portfolio in Alabama, which now includes six properties spread across multiple markets: Athens, Enterprise and Trussville, in addition to Birmingham and Madison.
The 133-unit Monark Grove Madison, located about 11 miles southwest of Huntsville, offers a blend of independent living and specialized memory care. The 137-unit Monark Grove Greystone in Birmingham provides independent living, assisted living and memory care. In addition, Monark Grove Greystone offers residents personalized care options, luxury amenities and an active lifestyle.
Based in Birmingham, Atlas Senior Living operates 37 communities across the Southeast, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
Two more senior living communities are set to open, including one this fall and one in the second quarter of 2025.
Earlier this summer, Atlas acquired three properties in the metro Orlando, Florida communities of Ocoee, Oviedo, and Clermont.
