BOSTON — Beacon Communities, a developer in the affordable, market-rate and mixed-income property space, including seniors housing, has hired Justin Babineaux as associate general counsel of property management.
Most recently, Babineaux served as staff attorney at Columbia Residential, where he managed and oversaw legal matters relating to fair housing and regulatory compliance.
In his new role, Babineaux will serve as primary legal support for the property management team in all legal aspects of the ownership and management of affordable and mixed-income housing communities. Reporting to Beacon’s general counsel, he will provide legal guidance on issues and various areas of law impacting the operation of Beacon’s properties. In addition, he will monitor regulatory developments and identify changes to ensure compliance.
Prior to his role at Columbia Residential in Atlanta, Babineaux worked at U.S. Housing and Urban Development in Atlanta, first as a legal intern in the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, and then as a trial attorney at the Office of Regional Counsel in the Litigation Division.
Babineaux holds a doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University.
