HOUSTON — Buckner Retirement Services has hired Abraham Mathew as the new executive director for faith-based senior living community Buckner Parkway Place in Houston.
Mathew will take over for Susan Phelps, who retires after serving seniors with Buckner Retirement Services since 2003. The hiring of Mathew follows the recent ribbon cutting on the community’s $12.8 million renovation project.
Mathew’s career working with senior adults began in 2003, and he has since held positions in Texas and Illinois as a Licensed Healthcare Administrator.
Mathew is currently working on a doctorate in healthcare management and leadership from California Intercontinental University in Irvine, Calif. He holds a master’s degree in social work. He is an appointee of the Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee by Texas Governor Greg Abbot, as well as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
