LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Blake Management Group, together with Cardinal Ventures Inc., has hired Stephen Black as the executive director of The Blake at Chenal Valley in Little Rock. Cardinal Ventures is building the 153,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community, along with several dozen independent living cottages. Stephen Black earned business administration degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels from Williams Baptist and Belhaven universities. He carries 12 years of experience in long-term senior care.

ARKANSAS and MISSISSIPPI — VIUM Capital has provided $74.5 million in bridge-to-HUD financing for the acquisition of 11 skilled nursing facilities. One of the assets is located in Mississippi and the rest are in Arkansas. Three different sellers sold the properties to an undisclosed buyer. Further information on the buyer, seller and portfolio was not disclosed.

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — Discovery Senior Living and National Health Investors (NYSE: NHI) have formed a joint venture to acquire and rebrand nine former Holiday Retirement communities. The properties are located in Arkansas, Georgia, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Jersey and South Carolina and total 1,094 units. O’Reilly Development Co. is developing the property, which will feature 96 independent living units, 44 assisted living units and 18 memory care units. O’Reilly is a real estate investment and development firm specializing in historic preservation, seniors housing, affordable housing, multifamily and student housing communities.

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Senior Living Investment Brokerage (SLIB) has arranged the sale of West Memphis Health & Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility in West Memphis, just across the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee. The property features 85 beds. An Arkansas-based regional owner-operator sold the community to another regional owner-operator looking to expand in the state. The price was not disclosed. ARKANSAS — Monticello has provided $50 million in first lien debt financing for the acquisition of six skilled nursing facilities totaling 868 beds in Arkansas. The transaction also includes a $2 million working capital loan to the operating companies of the properties provided by Monticello’s asset-based lending group, Monticello Commercial Capital LLC. The borrower is an owner-operator with previous experience in Arkansas. The names and locations of the properties were not disclosed.
