CHICAGO — Enlivant, a Chicago-based owner operator, has acquired a portfolio of four assisted living communities, three in Indiana and one in Iowa, for $14.3 million, or $102,000 per unit.
The properties include Elkhart Place (formerly Beardsley House), 39 units in Elkhart, Ind.; Chapman Place (formerly Harbour Assisted Living), 62 units in Fort Wayne, Ind.; Jewel Place (formerly Jewel House), 39 units in Madison, Ind.; and Reed Place (formerly Reed House), 35 units in Denison, Iowa.
Ben Firestone and Mike Segal of Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors brokered the transaction. Although the seller was not disclosed, Senior Lifestyle Corp. lists all four properties on its website.
Enlivant targeted the Indiana and Iowa markets because the number of people aged 65 and over in Indiana is projected to rise 36 percent over the next 15 years and 34 percent in Iowa.
With these acquisitions, Enlivant now operates approximately 235 senior living communities, totaling 11,000 units across 27 states.
