Tech Firm Sentrics to Acquire SeniorTV

AKRON, Ohio, and CHICAGO — Sentrics, a Chicago-based technology firm serving the seniors housing industry formerly known as SeniorMetrics, has announced plans to acquire SeniorTV.

Based in Akron, SeniorTV is provider of television entertainment, community-specific programming, and internet and WiFi solutions for senior living communities. The combined company hopes to provide a wider range of technology and entertainment services as a result of the acquisition.

“For too long, seniors have only been able to use their TVs for passive entertainment,” saya Darin LeGrange, CEO of Sentrics. “By integrating SeniorTV into our existing multifaceted solution, we will transform the TV into something that empowers senior residents to step beyond mere entertainment to engage their fellow residents, families and the community through easy-to-use two-way interaction.”

Rick Briggs, founder of SeniorTV, will remain as president and will have an expanded role leading marketing efforts for Sentrics as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Sentrics is backed by Chicago-based private equity firm Periscope Equity LLC.
