ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The occupancy rate in the U.S. seniors housing sector — which includes both independent and assisted living — registered 90.2 percent during the first quarter of 2015, down 20 basis points from the prior quarter, according to the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC). Still, the occupancy rate is 3.3 percentage points above its cyclical low of 86.9 percent reached during the first quarter of 2010. All statistics are based on data from 31 top markets in the U.S.

BURLINGTON, Wisc. — Blueprint Health Care Real Estate Advisors has brokered the sale of Arbor View Communities in Burlington for $8.55 million. Arbor View is a 50-unit assisted living and memory care community consisting of two distinct buildings built in 2008 and 2011.
ATLANTA — AdCare Health Systems Inc. (NYSE: ADK), an investment company specializing in seniors housing, has closed an underwritten public offering of 575,000 shares of its 10.875 percent Series A cumulative redeemable preferred stock at a public offering price of $25.75 per share.
DALLAS —Stroud Development and Stroud Investments, in a joint venture with Orchard Park Senior Living, have sold four assisted living and memory care communities in the Houston, Odessa and Austin markets to ROC Seniors Housing Fund Manager. The sale, valued at over $70 million, was financed using the HUD 232 debt program.
