Webinar: Tips for How Operators Can Thrive in the Evolving Seniors Living Market

by Sarah Daniels

On July 23, Seniors Housing Business hosted a panel discussion called “Tips for How Operators Can Thrive in the Evolving Seniors Living Market” where four seniors housing industry experts joined to talk about how they are addressing COVID-19 challenges, adapting and promoting communities in spite of obstacles. The seniors housing world has shifted dramatically in the past few months, explains Steve Lampa, Founding Parter at Kensington Living, a Washington D.C.-based operator. “The number of leads is definitely down, but on the other hand a lot of people are spending a lot more time at home. They’re spending a lot more time with their loved ones, and are coming to an understanding of how difficult it actually is to continue to manage in some cases…. Because we were restricted from moving folks in for a while, our occupancy did go down. We’re looking at rebuilding [occupancy] now and leads are starting to come back, but it’s going to be a while to fill those holes.”

Hear experts discuss the following topics and more:

  • Encouraging safe visits
  • Using technology to prevent/report falls, fevers, other health concerns
  • Budgeting for COVD-19-related expenses
  • Generating new leads and communicating the benefits of communities over home care
  • Virtual marketing
  • High acuity versus lower acuity models
  • Where does the seniors housing industry go from here
