PHILADELPHIA — Spiezle Architectural Group has completed design work for the second phase of renovations at Cathedral Village, a senior living community in Philadelphia.
The first phase began in 2014, and is scheduled for completion in 2022. The latest phase includes renovating all facades, walkways and outdoor amenity spaces to encourage outdoor living and leisure activities.
“We have partnered with Presbyterian Senior Living to enhance the property with a more philosophical approach, engaging residents in campus planning sessions and throughout all design phases,” says Steven Leone, principal with the firm. “The result is a built environment that offers the greatest degree of security and access to the outdoors in an arboretum-like setting featuring tree-filled verandas and relaxing walkways spread throughout.”
The final designs focused on maintaining an open connection with the site and blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces through movable walls, overhead doors and folding windows.
The project consists of 180 apartment units and 133 skilled nursing beds. The general contractor for the project is PJ Dick.
